New York meets Sicily:
launching an international promotion project for Sicilian ceramics

The Sicilian Ceramic Routes are preparing to take an important step in the journey of valorization and internationalization of the Island’s artisanal heritage. In the coming months, a project will be launched in New York that will bring the excellence of Sicilian ceramics to one of the world’s leading capitals of culture, design, and innovation.

The initiative will involve the cities of Burgio, Caltagirone, Collesano, Monreale, Santo Stefano di Camastra, and Sciacca. These territories preserve a unique ceramic tradition, the result of centuries of history, creativity, and artisanal mastery.

Telling Sicily’s story through ceramics

The project’s objective is to introduce international audiences not only to the quality of Sicilian ceramic productions, but also to the territories, communities, and traditions that represent their most authentic soul.

For this reason, communication activities, storytelling, and multimedia content production will be developed. Additionally, relations with the international press and meetings with industry operators, buyers, and American stakeholders will be promoted.

Through these actions, Sicily will bring to New York the story of its cultural, artistic, and productive excellence.

Sicily Lands in Hands

The project “Sicily Lands in Hands – International promotion of artistic ceramics and baked goods” involves the participation of journalists from major American publications, buyers specialized in artistic crafts and home décor, cultural and experiential tourism operators, architects, interior designers, and design professionals.

Dedicated meetings, networking activities, and targeted communication actions will be organized. At the same time, the Sicilian Ceramic Routes will present themselves to the American market as an innovative model of territorial valorization.  A model capable of uniting culture, craftsmanship, tourism, and sustainable development.

An opportunity for the territory

The initiative represents an important opportunity to strengthen the presence of Sicilian artisanal productions in foreign markets. Furthermore, it will foster the development of new international collaborations and contribute to promoting the cities participating in the Sicilian Ceramic Routes as cultural and experiential tourism destinations.

Tradition looking toward the future

With this project, Sicily presents itself to the world through one of its most recognizable and distinctive artistic expressions.

Ceramics thus becomes an instrument of cultural dialogue, territorial promotion, and sustainable development. At the same time, it represents a bridge between tradition and innovation, capable of conveying to international audiences the history, creativity, and identity of the territories that are part of the Sicilian Ceramic Routes.
